The local study that the Milwaukee County chapter is researching is about lending industry practices. The second part of the study on which we are working now is about the collapse of the sub-prime market and the large increase in the number of foreclosures. Among the questions are whether or not lending practices contributed to this nation-wide problem
Metropolitan Milwaukee Fair Housing Council addresses housing access issues and housing financing. A key stakeholder in fighting predatory lending, the MMFHC organized STOPP, a communjity-wide coalition to devlop programs locally and legislation statewide to address the abuses of predatory lending.
The League has long advocated for a greater public voice in public budget-making. The American Friends Service Committee produces short videos on a variety of subjects.
