Women's Equality Day celebrates women gaining the right to vote in the United States. Some states had already provided for women voters in state and local elections. The US caught up today in 1920 after 72 years of endless, ceaseless campaiging to win this basic democrat citizen's right. The League was formed to educate voters on issues and encourage citizens to vote. Women still earn $0.77 on average for every $1.00 earned by a man. And even after all these years women still mame up only 16% of our Congressional representatives.
