The League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County urges the MIlwaukee County Board of Supervisors approval of the Milwaukee County Climate Action 2050 Plan at its upcoming meeting on Apr 24, 2025.
This comprehensive plan will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and foster the resilience of Milwaukee County buildings and operations. Growing out of the City-County Climate and Equity Task Force of 2019-22, the Plan Now Before You offers municipalities in Milwaukee County a model for addressing climate change across the County. Hopefully, County Board approval of the Climate Action 2050 Plan will lead to cooperation between Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee as the latter implements its 2023 Climate and Equity Plan.
Collective action across Milwaukee County will provide a compelling example of cooperation to address climate change and its attendant inequities, the most pressing issues of our time. Please approve the County Climate Action 2050 Plan.
