You hear all the time that the League of Women Voters is an all-volunteer organization. Our members volunteer in many ways - voter registration; advocacy in areas such as Natural Resources, Reproductive Rights and Fair Voting Maps; chairing and becoming members of committees; managing and assisting with events. Another way to volunteer is to serve on the Board of Directors.

The Nominating Committee is looking for candidates for the Board for the 2024-2026 term. Nominees are needed for the positions of Vice President-Program, Treasurer, and Director (two open positions), each a term of two years.

• The Vice President-Program manages processes related to the League’s education and advocacy platform. Responsibilities include program organization, coordination, delegation and direction, evaluation and review, and communication.

• The Treasurer implements accounting controls and procedures related to the  day-to-day financial management of the organization as defined in the Financial Controls Policy. In addition, the Treasurer serves as an ex-officio member of the Finance and Budget Committee.

• Directors attend and contribute to Board meetings and promote the League. Opportunities to take on additional roles and responsibilities may arise throughout the term. 

In an effort to open up wider participation in the nomination process, we invite you to nominate yourself or, after receiving their permission, another member. Please consider expressing your interest in a Board position or nominating a League friend that you believe is a good candidate for one of the open positions. 

Serving on the Board of Directors is a privilege and an opportunity. It is about working behind the scenes, impacting policy, and becoming acquainted with some amazing members.
