At our September meeting we made our book choices for October, January and March. We also decided we will not meet in December because our usual meeting on the 4th Friday of the month falls in Christmas week; we will skip December 2024.

 

Here is a summary of what we have planned: Plans through Jun 2025.

 

Our book choice for October is "The Southernization of America: A Story of Democracy in the Balance," by Cynthia Tucker and Frye Gaillard (2022). A summary of it as well as a summary of our January book choice is below. 

Please note the author of our March book choice, "Valiant Vel: Vel Phillips and the Fight for Fairness and Equality," is League member and longtime League Cafe member, Jerrianne Hayslett!  Her book is at the printer but not yet available for purchase. More information on her book will be forthcoming soon.
