Day of Action – Madison & Milwaukee

We’ve demonstrated that when we show up and fight, we can win. Now more than ever, it’s all hands on deck, and we need your help.

The 2024 Presidential & Fall General Election is rapidly approaching. Voters will be choosing candidates up and down the ballot, including President and Vice President of the United States. Plus, there's a critical constitutional amendment on the ballot, and we’re urging voters to Vote NO to protect our voting rights.

Kick-off the first day of early voting with us, and join the volunteer-powered GOTV Day of Action on Tuesday, October 22nd! We’ll be in Milwaukee and Madison text banking, writing postcards to voters, and vote tripling to get out the vote.

Join us in Milwaukee:

~ COFFEE SALE UPDATE ~

* * * Challenge Match * * *

We have secured a challenge match for coffee sales!!!  For every bag of coffee sold over 100 bags during the month of October, the match will mean a $5 donation to the Coffee Sale. The challenge match was put together by a generous group of LWVMC members. Thank you! Purchase coffee online on the League website (or copy and paste this web address: BIT.LY/46ZHWNK

We are partnering this year with East View Coffee Company whose business practices are aligned with our League values. They purchase coffee from women-owned coffee farms in Colombia and Brazil and packaging is environmentally friendly. There are four varieties, and each 12 oz. bag of coffee is $17.50, available in either whole bean or ground. Descriptions of the four coffee blends are on the website and the PDF flyer HERE

The Cafe Corazon restaurant group has selected LWVMC as its featured Tú y Yo (You and I) community organization for the month of November.

This means that for every taco plate ordered on each of the four Tuesdays in November, LWVMC will receive a $1.00 donation.

Cafe Corazon has great food, a fun atmosphere, and friendly staff at three locations in Bay View, Riverwest, and Brown Deer. And who doesn’t like tacos?!

This is an easy way to support our League’s activities and to get our name out more across the Milwaukee community.

Election Observer Training Oct. 24, 6-8 pm

The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin needs your help to monitor Wisconsin's elections. We are seeking volunteers to be trained as Election Observers and placed in polling places in specific areas around the state. Training is provided, and the program is open to non-members.

Election Observation Program Goals:

1.      to be sure there is no disenfranchisement

2.      to monitor the voter experience - including registration and showing ID

3.      to monitor the absentee ballot counting process

4.      to track any problems that can be fixed for future elections

Requirements: You'll need to be available to volunteer for a minimum of 2 hours on Election Day. Election observers will also need a cell phone to use while volunteering and have their own transportation to and from their assigned polling location. There are also opportunities to be a "roving" observer and observe at multiple polling sites. Rovers need to be available to volunteer for at least 4 hours on Election Day.

Training Information: We conduct our election observer training via online webinar.
